Description

The City of Brampton recognizes the unique and valuable role that the non-profit sector can play in delivering projects that meet community needs, complement City services, and contribute to advancing the 2018-2022 Term of Council Priorities. As such, the City is pleased to offer a limited seminar series, in partnership with The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University, which will help to advance the capacity and knowledge of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton.

Three streams available:

Emerging:  This stream of funding is designed to support new programs or organizations to the Advance Brampton Fund. It seeks to provide funding to organizations with an innovative idea that impacts Brampton residents.

Developing: This stream of funding is designed to support a program that has been run successfully at least once in Brampton. Funding is provided to help develop the project’s work, audience, impact and/or reach.

Amplifying:  This stream of funding is designed to support a program that has been run at least twice before in Brampton. Funding is provided to help amplify the project’s work, audience, impact and/or reach.

Eligibility

All Streams 

  • All applicant organizations must carry $2,000,000 in Commercial General Liability Insurance from the time the application is submitted until the end of the project duration as outlined within the application.
  • All projects must take place between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022
  • Please consult the 2022 Advance Brampton Fund Guidelines before submitting an application to the Advance Brampton Fund

 

Unincorporated Non Profit Organizations MUST provide:

  • A document containing the names of two (2) authorized members who:
    • Jointly have the authority to bind the organization and all its members.
    • Are over the age of 19.
    • Have permanent residential addresses in Brampton.
  • This document must also confirm that these are the individuals responsible executing the grant application and will execute the City’s grant agreement both personally and on behalf of the organization.
  • These two authorized members must submit photocopies of their photo identification proving they are over the age of 19 and hold Brampton residential addresses.
  • A list of members of the organization and volunteer Board of Directors.
  • A copy of the organization’s constitution, by-laws, charter, or terms of agreement, evidencing the organization’s non-profit purpose.

Appendix D in the Advance Brampton Fund 2022 Guidelines provides a sample term of agreement.

Incorporated Non-Profit MUST provide:

  • A Corporation Information Page or Corporation Profile Report that:
    • Is dated for the year the application is submitted in.
    • Contains and proves the Brampton address provided in your application as either the head office location or mailing address for your organization.
    • Is not a P.O. Box, PO boxes are not accepted as addresses for office locations.

Appendix B and C in the Advance Brampton Fund 2022 Guidelines contain instructions on how to receive these reports digitally.

If your organization is incorporated Provincially a Corporation Profile Report must be submitted with your application. No other documentation will be accepted.

If your organization is incorporated Federally a Corporation Information Page must be submitted with our application. No other documentation will be accepted.

Registered Charities MUST provide:

  • An electronic copy of the Registered Charity’s Detail page on the Canada Revenue Agency website.
    • This charity detail page must list a matching Brampton address to the one contained within your application.

Appendix A in the Advance Brampton Fund 2022 Guidelines provide instruction on how to access this page and a sample Charity Detail Page.

  • ·         Registered Charities that are incorporated must also provide a Corporation Profile Report or Corporation Information Page. These documents should include
    • A date for the year in which your application is to be submitted
    • A matching Brampton address to that found on your charity detail page and found in your application.
    • No P.O. Boxes will be accepted as addresses for office locations.

How to Apply?

How to Access Applications:

  1. Click on the ‘APPLY NOW’ button above.
  2. Use your Advance Brampton Fund Grants Portal login information or create a user account using the ‘Login’ and ‘Register’ buttons in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Once logged your “My Applications” screen will show. This screen shows previously submitted applications and any open or unfinished applications returning users have to complete. It will also include any 2021 Close Out Reports that are still pending.
  4. Click ‘Programs’ in the top right corner of the screen.
  5. This screen shows all of the open granting streams. Select the one you wish to apply to (2022 Emerging 1, 2022 Developing or 2022 Amplifying) and click ‘Start’. At this time the application will launch.

Funding Amount

Emerging: Up to $5,000 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of eligible expenses.

Developing: Up to $12,500 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of eligible expenses

Amplifying: Up to $25,000 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of eligible expenses
