Description

Celebrate Canada provides funding for activities organized on:

Events funded are expected to be held on the date of the designated day.

Eligibility

The following organizations are eligible for funding:

  • A Canadian not-for-profit organization, such as a corporation, trust, cooperative, unincorporated association
  • A Canadian business corporation where projects are non-commercial in nature
  • A Canadian educational institution, Canadian municipal government or other municipal, provincial/territorial institution
  • An Indigenous peoples institution or organization (Indigenous peoples include Inuit, Métis, Status and Non Status people)
  • A local band council, local tribal council or other local Aboriginal government or organization (First Nations, Inuit or Métis)

Federal, provincial and territorial governments are not eligible for funding (with the exception of the Canada Place Corporation for Canada Day celebrations, as per the amendment to the Canada Marine Act).

How to Apply?

Read these Application Guidelines in their entirety before completing your application.

In order to apply through the portal, you will need to complete a two-step online application process (an Applicant Profile and an online application form), and upload the required documents prior to the deadline.

To complete your Applicant Profile, you will need the following documents:

  • Proof of your organization’s legal status (letters patent/incorporation documents, partnership agreements, constitution or bylaws or other recognized documentation); if your organization is an unincorporated association, ad hoc committee or trust without any by-laws or a constitution, you can attach a copy of meeting minutes or a list of your controlling members.
  • Direct Deposit Enrollment Form, stamped by a financial institution or accompanied by one supporting document (a void cheque, banking letter, or management letter). Direct Deposit Enrollment Forms can be downloaded from the portal.

While you may have already submitted these documents in the past, you will need to upload them to your Applicant Profile the first time you apply online.

To complete your application, you will need the following additional documents:

  • Delegation of signing authorities;
  • Most recent statutes and by-laws;
  • Most recent financial statements for clients requesting over $100,000; and
  • If applicable, the Unincorporated Applicant Acceptance of Responsibility form (form available on the portal)

Create or access your Canadian Heritage Funding Portal account and submit the online funding application before the deadline.

If you are unable to complete the application online, our Support Team can put you in touch with program staff who will be able to guide you as to other methods of application as required; please consider the time required to request, arrange/obtain, fill-in and submit your application before the deadline.
