The purpose of the VISP is to ensure that all people in Canada who have experienced a serious and permanent injury as a result of receiving a Health Canada authorized vaccine, administered in Canada on or after December 8, 2020, have fair and timely access to financial support.
The pan-Canadian VISP will serve all people vaccinated in Canada, with the exception of people vaccinated in Québec who will receive coverage from the longstanding Québec program.
All of the below criteria must be met in order to submit a successful claim.
Any person receiving a Health Canada authorized vaccine.
Claims can be filed within three years after the date of vaccination, date of death or date when an injury first becomes apparent.
Injury reported to health care provider.
Date of vaccination was on or after December 8, 2020.
Administered in Canada*
The vaccine was administered in Canada.
Serious and Permanent
The injury is serious and permanent or has resulted in death.

- Complete the screening questions
- Download the VISP application forms
- Mail the completed forms to the address listed at the bottom of the page
Applicants or authorized representatives in conjunction with the Physician who assessed the injury will be required to provide the following information during the application process:
- Physician contact information
- Patient and/or representative contact information
- Details specific to the vaccine injury
- Relevant medical consultation reports
Once your application has been submitted, a case manager will be assigned to a claimant and will contact them in a timely manner.
Following the initial intake process, claimants may be requested to provide consent to VISP to access medical records. Claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis and processing wait times may vary.
Eligible individuals may receive income replacement indemnities; injury indemnities; death benefits; coverage for funeral expenses; reimbursement of eligible costs such as otherwise uncovered medical expenses.
